In a recent survey, about half of the people said they were most excited about AI agents and systems that use multiple agents. More than 25% of companies are already testing these technologies.

This shows that many businesses are starting to look at how AI agents could take over or support everyday tasks, improving speed and productivity.

But for AI agents to work well, good data is key. Most companies only use less than half of the data they already have—and it’s not just about having a lot of data, but having the right kind of data. Clean, well-organized data will help businesses get the most from GenAI.

AI Agents in Business Platforms

AI agents are becoming part of the tools that businesses already use, like enterprise software platforms. These platforms are what companies rely on to run their operations. Now, vendors are adding GenAI features to make these tools smarter and more automated.

Unlike simple chatbots or robots that follow basic rules, AI agents can actually do real tasks for businesses. For example, they can handle invoices, close financial books, analyze data, predict risks, and even help with product design and testing. These agents can also detect fraud or threats before they happen.

Another important step is customizing these agents. Instead of using general AI trained on internet data, companies can train AI agents using their own industry data. This makes the agents more accurate and useful for their specific needs. The key elements—context, relevance, and accuracy—are becoming more important as these systems are built into business platforms.

Companies should stay flexible, focus on innovation, and use GenAI to create real value. They should also use their platforms to find places where AI agents can help the most.
