They are often the first to come up with new ideas, the quickest to adjust to changes, and the most determined to keep going even when times are tough. They don’t wait for perfect conditions — they move forward because being strong and flexible is part of who they are.

According to BoeFly’s April 2025 Franchise Growth Confidence Index, 72.7% of franchisors are confident they’ll reach their growth goals this year. That’s a big number, especially with current challenges like inflation, tariffs, and interest rate uncertainty. Also, 65.2% think the number of new franchise owners will grow or stay the same, and nearly 57% of brands expect to beat their 2024 expansion plans.

This isn’t just hope — it shows real business momentum

There’s money available, customer demand is strong, and many entrepreneurs are eager to grow or start something new. Franchising is a clear way for them to do that.

We’re seeing this growth in action. From new stores opening downtown to longtime clients expanding into new areas, people are clearly ready to grow. Entrepreneurs are not waiting — they’re moving forward quickly and with a plan. Many are doing it with help from partners who know what they need and support their goals.

Entrepreneurs Act While Others Wait

Entrepreneurs don’t need to know the future to move ahead — they just don’t stop. If you wait for everything to be perfect, you might never act. Some of the best businesses started when others were holding back.

When we announced our merger with First National Bank of Long Island last fall, some people questioned the timing. But we had a goal and kept moving. That’s what entrepreneurs do — they adjust, solve problems, and keep building.

I often get asked, “Is now a good time to start a business, buy a house, or grow a company?” My answer is simple: if you have a clear vision, enough money, and a good plan — yes, now is the right time. If you wait for perfect conditions, you might miss your chance. The truth is, entrepreneurs don’t follow the market — they move with purpose. In a strong and flexible economy like ours, those who act now are the ones shaping the future.

In times like these, it’s very important to have the right financial partner. A bank that gives advice—not just loans—can really help business owners move forward with confidence and a clear plan. Whether you need help with getting a loan, reviewing your business plan, or finding ways to get funding, working closely with your bank is key. So whether you’re growing your current business, looking into a franchise, or starting something new, remember that there’s power in moving forward—even when others are not.
