From Engineering Expertise to Building a Visionary Business
We started the interview by asking, “Adrian, can you tell us a little about your journey and what motivated you to start Envi Group Romania?”
Adrian Cursaru replied, “My professional journey has been shaped by more than two decades of experience in engineering, business development, sales, and management. Throughout these years, I have learned that building a successful business requires much more than identifying market opportunities. It takes vision, discipline, perseverance, and, above all, the ability to bring the right people together around a common purpose.
When I founded Envi Group, my ambition was to build a company that would stand out through professionalism, technical expertise, and a genuine commitment to its customers. I saw an opportunity to bring a different approach to the HVAC-R industry in Romania, one focused not simply on supplying equipment, but on understanding real technical challenges and delivering solutions that create long-term value.
From the beginning, I believed that performance should be measurable and that trust must be earned through consistency, responsibility, and results.
Over time, this vision has evolved. What started with a strong foundation in HVAC-R has gradually developed into a broader business ecosystem, bringing together engineering expertise, renewable energy, technical services, automation, and digital technologies.
What continues to motivate me is the opportunity to build something meaningful and sustainable. For me, entrepreneurship is not only about growing a company. It is about developing people, challenging conventional thinking, and creating an organization capable of making a positive impact over time.”
Building an Integrated Ecosystem Through Innovation and Trust
The Worlds Times: “What does the Envi Group brand represent to you, and what are you trying to achieve through the company? “
Adrian Cursaru replied, “For me, Envi Group represents a commitment to performance, integrity, innovation, and responsible entrepreneurship.
I have always believed that a company’s true value is defined not only by its commercial achievements, but also by the quality of its work, the trust it builds, and its ability to create lasting value for customers, partners, and employees.
Our philosophy is reflected in our motto, “Vision by Innovation.” We believe innovation should not be an objective in itself, but a way to transform ideas, expertise, and technology into practical solutions that make a difference.
Today, Envi Group brings together four complementary brands: Envion, focused on HVAC-R equipment and energy-efficient climate solutions; ENEN, dedicated to renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, energy storage, and electric mobility; TechCare, providing technical consulting, installation, maintenance, and related services; and EnviTechAi, focused on software development, automation, IoT, and artificial intelligence.
Our ambition is to connect these areas of expertise into an integrated ecosystem capable of responding to increasingly complex business and infrastructure needs.
We want our customers to see us as more than an equipment supplier or a service provider. We want to be a long-term partner, one that understands their challenges, anticipates future requirements, and contributes to the efficiency and sustainability of their investments.
Ultimately, my objective is to build a company recognized for its competence, reliability, adaptability, and the value it brings to every partnership. “
Making Sustainability Practical, Measurable, and People-Centered
The Worlds Times: “Sustainability is becoming increasingly important for businesses. How do you bring sustainability into Envi Group’s everyday work?”
Adrian Cursaru replied,“I believe sustainability must go beyond declarations. It should be reflected in the decisions we make, the technologies we implement, and the way we conduct our business every day.
In our industry, sustainability is closely connected to energy efficiency, responsible resource consumption, system reliability, and the long-term performance of an investment.
At Envi Group, we focus on technologies that can reduce energy consumption, improve operational efficiency, and support a more responsible use of resources. This includes high-efficiency HVAC-R equipment, heat recovery systems, heat pumps, renewable energy solutions, energy storage, and intelligent control technologies.
However, I also believe sustainability must make economic sense. A truly sustainable solution should be technically reliable, financially justified, and capable of delivering value throughout its entire lifecycle.
There is another dimension of sustainability that is equally important to me.
When we speak about the environment, we do not refer only to the natural world around us. We also think about the environment we create for the people who stand beside us: our colleagues, customers, and partners.
I believe that a sustainable company must create the right conditions for people to learn, evolve, and contribute. Just as we design technical solutions that provide the right indoor climate, we strive to build a professional environment where people, ideas, and businesses can grow.
This philosophy also influences our investments in education, digitalization, process optimization, and long-term partnerships.
For me, sustainability means caring for both the world we live in and the people with whom we build the future.”
Turning Complex Engineering Challenges into Reliable Solutions
The Worlds Times: “You have been involved in projects with complex HVAC and ventilation requirements. What have these projects taught you?”
Adrian Cursaru replied, „Complex engineering projects have taught me that performance is never the result of technology alone. It comes from combining technical expertise, careful planning, strong partnerships, and people who take responsibility for delivering reliable results.
Over the years, Envi Group has contributed to a wide range of projects across airport infrastructure, healthcare, commercial developments, residential buildings, and industrial facilities.
Among these, our airport projects are particularly relevant because they demonstrate the importance of reliability, energy efficiency, and technical coordination in demanding environments.
We have contributed HVAC solutions to Timișoara International Airport, Delta Dunării Airport in Tulcea, and Maramureș Airport in Baia Mare.
One project that particularly reflects our technical capabilities is Delta Dunării Airport in Tulcea, where we implemented an integrated HVAC solution designed to meet the requirements of modern airport infrastructure.
The project included six VRF heat-recovery systems, five additional VRF systems, six VRF-AHU interface systems, 184 indoor units, and seven air-handling units with a combined airflow capacity of 57,000 m³/h.
Beyond the technical specifications, this project has a special significance because it contributes to the development of infrastructure in a region known for its exceptional natural heritage.
Our portfolio also includes healthcare projects, where air quality, hygiene, and operational reliability are essential, as well as commercial and industrial developments with their own specific technical challenges.
These experiences have reinforced my belief that technical excellence cannot be improvised. It requires preparation, continuous learning, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility.
For me, the real achievement is not simply completing a project. It is implementing a solution that continues to perform efficiently and reliably over time.
And behind every successful project, there are people whose expertise, dedication, and teamwork make the difference.”
Connecting Energy, Digitalization, and Artificial Intelligence
The Worlds Times: “The energy sector is changing quickly. What developments are you paying the most attention to?”
Adrian Cursaru replied,”I believe we are entering a period in which energy, engineering, and digital technology will become increasingly interconnected.
The transition toward renewable energy, energy storage, electrification, intelligent building systems, and artificial intelligence is transforming the way businesses operate and manage their resources.
One of the developments I find most important is the integration of these technologies. A photovoltaic system, an energy storage solution, a heat pump, or an intelligent control platform can each deliver significant benefits. However, their potential becomes much greater when they operate together as part of a well-designed, efficient system.
This is one of the reasons we have expanded our activities through ENEN, developing our capabilities in renewable energy, energy storage, and electric mobility.
At the same time, I strongly believe digitalization will play a defining role in the future of business.
Through EnviTechAi, we are developing Hubeez, our own software platform, initially inspired by the operational challenges we identified within our organization.
Our vision now extends beyond internal digitalization. We are developing Hubeez as a customizable solution for external companies that want to modernize their operations, automate repetitive processes, improve collaboration, and make better-informed business decisions.
I believe technology should adapt to the needs of a business, not the other way around. Every organization has its own structure, challenges, and ambitions, and digital solutions should reflect that reality.
For me, the purpose of automation and artificial intelligence is not simply to introduce new technology. It is to reduce operational complexity, improve efficiency, and give people more time to focus on activities that create real value.
At the same time, technology alone is not enough. The industry needs qualified specialists, continuous education, and companies willing to invest in competence and long-term thinking.
I believe the businesses that will succeed in the future will be those capable of combining engineering expertise, digital intelligence, energy efficiency, and responsible management.”
Leading Through People, Accountability, and Continuous Learning
The Worlds Times: “What is your approach to leadership, and what values do you try to bring to your team?”
Adrian Cursaru replied,”Throughout my career, I have become increasingly convinced that people are the foundation of every successful organization.
Technology can be acquired, business models can be replicated, and markets can change. What truly differentiates a company is the competence of its people, the values they share, and the way they work together.
My approach to leadership is based on professionalism, integrity, accountability, perseverance, and continuous learning.
I believe a leader must first set an example through personal conduct, consistency, and respect for commitments. It is difficult to ask people to demonstrate responsibility or discipline if those principles are not reflected in the way you lead.
I also believe in giving people autonomy and encouraging them to think independently. A strong organization should not depend on one individual making every decision. It should be built around capable professionals who understand their responsibilities, communicate openly, and take ownership of their results.
Education has always been important to me. Our industries evolve rapidly, and what we know today may not be sufficient tomorrow. This is why I encourage our team to remain curious, develop new skills, challenge established processes, and continuously look for better ways of working.
At Envi Group, we also invest in organizational development and digital tools because I believe people perform better when they have clear objectives, efficient processes, and access to the information they need.
For me, leadership is not simply about managing people or achieving financial targets. It is about creating an environment where individuals can develop, teams can perform, and the organization can grow sustainably.
A leader’s responsibility is not only to build a successful business, but also to create the right climate for people to grow alongside it.”
Creating a Sustainable, Internationally Competitive Future
The Worlds Times: “Finally, what would you like to accomplish with Envi Group in the coming years?”
Adrian Cursaru replied,”My long-term ambition is to continue developing Envi Group into an internationally competitive engineering, energy, and technology business, built on strong expertise, responsible growth, and a culture of continuous innovation.
We have established a solid foundation in HVAC-R, technical solutions, and long-term customer relationships. The next stage of our development is about connecting this experience with new opportunities in renewable energy, energy storage, automation, intelligent systems, and digital technologies.
I see significant potential in strengthening the synergies between our four brands and developing integrated solutions that respond to the increasingly complex needs of modern businesses and infrastructure.
International development is also part of our long-term vision. I believe Romanian companies have the talent, expertise, and entrepreneurial capacity to compete beyond their domestic markets when they invest consistently in quality, innovation, and professional standards.
However, I do not believe growth should be pursued at any cost. A successful company must remain financially responsible, operationally efficient, and faithful to the principles on which it was built.
We will continue investing in our people, technologies, processes, and strategic partnerships, while remaining attentive to the real needs of the markets we serve.
Personally, I want Envi Group to become a company recognized not only for its technical capabilities and commercial achievements, but also for its professionalism, reliability, and positive contribution to the business environment.
I want us to build an organization that can continue to evolve beyond any one individual, supported by competent people, strong values, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.
For me, true entrepreneurial success is not measured only by the size of a business, but by its ability to create lasting value and make a meaningful difference.
Our ambition is to create the right climate for growth — for businesses, for people, and for a more sustainable future.”
