Nikita Gupta Interview

“Growing Up Gupta” is a platform dedicated to supporting interracial and intercultural families by sharing personal stories, expert advice, and educational resources. Inspired by the founder’s own journey, it addresses the challenges of blending cultures, navigating family dynamics, and overcoming societal biases. With books, blogs, and now an interracial matchmaking service, Growing Up Gupta continues to foster understanding, inclusivity, and meaningful connections across cultures.

Inspiration Behind “Growing Up Gupta”

We started the interview by asking, “What inspired you to create “Growing Up Gupta,” and what gap did you see in the media landscape?”

Nikita Gupta replied, “Growing Up Gupta” was born from my own journey as part of an interracial and intercultural family. When my husband and I started navigating life together, we realized there were very few resources that spoke to the unique experiences of Indian and mixed-race relationships. I wanted to create a platform that not only shares personal stories but also provides guidance, education, and support for families like ours.”

Challenges Faced by Nikita

The Worlds Times: What are some of the biggest challenges interracial and intercultural couples face, and how does your platform help them?

Nikita Gupta replied, “One of the biggest challenges is navigating cultural differences, whether in traditions, expectations, or family dynamics. Couples also face societal biases, misunderstandings, and even resistance from loved ones. “Growing Up Gupta” provides real-life experiences, expert advice, and community support to help couples bridge these gaps, communicate effectively, and create a harmonious blend of cultures in their families.”

Mixed-Culture Relationships

The Worlds Times: What are some of the most common misconceptions about interracial and intercultural relationships?

Nikita Gupta replied, “A common misconception is that love alone is enough to overcome cultural differences. While love is essential, successful relationships also require mutual understanding, compromise, and respect. Another myth is that one partner has to “give up” their culture. We emphasize that both cultures can coexist beautifully when there is open communication and willingness to embrace each other’s backgrounds.”

Impact on Families and Communities

The Worlds Times: What kind of impact has “Growing Up Gupta” had on individuals and families?

Nikita Gupta replied, “We’ve received heartfelt messages from couples and families who felt seen and supported for the first time. Many have shared how our articles, books, and resources helped them navigate cultural challenges, build stronger relationships, and even gain acceptance from their families. Seeing this impact reaffirms our mission and fuels our passion to continue growing the platform.”

Ensuring Inclusivity and Representation

The Worlds Times: How do you ensure that your platform remains inclusive and representative of diverse voices?

Nikita Gupta replied, “Inclusivity is at the heart of “Growing Up Gupta.” We feature a wide range of stories from people of different ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds. We also collaborate with guest writers, relationship experts, and community members to provide well-rounded perspectives. Our goal is to create a space where every interracial and intercultural family feels heard and valued.”

Navigating Cultural Differences

The Worlds Times: What resources does “Growing Up Gupta” offer to help couples and families navigate cultural differences?

Nikita Gupta replied, “Our platform provides a variety of resources, including blog articles, books, cultural guides, parenting tips, and relationship advice. We cover topics such as blending traditions, handling family expectations, raising multicultural children, and managing cross-cultural communication. We also offer curated lists of books and tools designed specifically for interracial and intercultural families.”

Advice for Overcoming Cultural Barriers

The Worlds Times: What advice would you give to someone struggling with cultural acceptance in their relationship?

Nikita Gupta replied, “Start by fostering open and honest conversations with your partner and families. Education is key—help loved ones understand your relationship and cultural traditions. Patience is also essential, as acceptance often takes time. Surround yourself with a supportive community, and don’t be afraid to seek resources like “Growing Up Gupta” for guidance and encouragement.”

Future Vision and Exciting Developments

Lastly we asked, “What’s next for “Growing Up Gupta,” and how do you see it evolving in the future?”

We’re excited to continue expanding our reach through more books, digital resources, and collaborations with experts in cross-cultural relationships and parenting. We also aim to create more interactive spaces, such as webinars and community forums, where families can connect and support each other. Our mission is to keep inspiring, educating, and celebrating the beauty of multicultural love and family life. Additionally, I’m thrilled to share that my newest book, Bound by Culture, Freed by Love, will be released on Amazon on February 13, 2025. Last, I am also offering Indian interracial matchmaking at this time to further support couples in finding meaningful connections.” Nikita Gupta Concluded
