Aisha Al Kharusi – Deputy Executive Chair
As an Omani national born in Qatar, my life has been a tapestry woven with diverse threads of culture and experience. My journey began when my family embarked on a global adventure, relocating to various countries where I immersed myself in new environments. Over the years, I have lived in Pakistan, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates, living three to four years in each country.
My education took place in both British and American international schools and boarding schools, where I was exposed to varied educational philosophies and styles. These formative years enhanced my academic skills and enriched my worldview.
In every country I resided, I made a concerted effort to connect with my peers, forming profound and lasting friendships with individuals from a multitude of backgrounds. Each relationship brought with it unique perspectives and stories, further broadening my understanding of the world. As a third-culture child, I experienced the beauty of blending different customs and beliefs into my own evolving identity.
Instead of merely adapting to each new environment, I have thrived, finding ways to contribute to and engage with the local communities. My life’s journey has been one of continuous exploration, and I carry a piece of each place I’ve called home, shaping my identity in an ever-expanding mosaic of experiences and insights.
I currently serve as the Deputy Executive Chairperson at the Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS). This institution, described as a “hidden gem” in Oman by QS leader, is committed to providing world-class education. In my role with the remarkable faculty and staff, I oversee the strategic vision and growth of MCBS, ensuring that it meets the highest national and international standards and best practices. I am particularly passionate about this work, drawing on my experiences in the corporate world.
With 27 years of work experience, from a publishing house to Oman’s oldest commercial financial institution to the world’s largest aerospace company and a short stint in a start-up business, I am keen to leave an impact in my workplace.
As a passionate keynote speaker, I advocate for youth and women’s engagement and am dedicated to promoting wealth creation for all. My support for education extends beyond boundaries, as I believe in the transformative power of these fields to shape our world.
