Saying Friday’s episode of SmackDown in Chicago was wild would be putting it lightly.
We got two matches to decide new No. 1 contenders, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Paul Heyman revealed big details about a major WWE storyline, Rey Fenix had a great debut match against Nathan Frazer, and Charlotte Flair—one of the most famous female wrestlers ever—got completely embarrassed on the microphone.
Charlotte is set to face Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s World Championship, but honestly, their rivalry hasn’t been very exciting. That changed on Friday.
Some fans think what happened was real, not just part of the show—and there’s a good reason for that. Stratton totally owned Flair, especially with the Chicago crowd booing her so loudly she seemed shaken and couldn’t say her lines.
The boos were so loud—like the kind Dirty Dominik Mysterio gets—that Charlotte looked rattled. While she struggled, Stratton hit her with harsh comments that really landed.
Here’s what Stratton said:
“Wade, did she even get her ‘Wooo’ in? Listen, Charlotte, your biggest rival has never been someone in the ring—it’s always been your own issues. No matter how hard you try or how long you’re gone, that’s a fight you can’t win. You act like nothing bothers you, like you’re better than everyone, then you go cry on some talk show. So which is it? The sad truth is, no matter how many championships you win or records you break, you’ll always be second to your dad, Ric Flair. And at WrestleMania, you’ll be second to me, Tiffany Stratton. Hear that? That’s real power.”
Stratton then asked, “Are you done?” after Charlotte’s moment was completely ruined by the crowd.
Also worth noting: Stratton walked to the ring wearing clothes that looked a lot like Charlotte’s. It wasn’t mentioned on TV, but it seemed like a move to mock or outshine her.
As Charlotte Flair tried to speak over a loud, booing crowd, Tiffany Stratton jumped in and took control.
She sarcastically asked, “What’s wrong, Charlotte? Cat got your tongue?”
Charlotte backed off and let the crowd have its moment, giving Stratton a chance to take over. And Stratton didn’t hold back.
She said, “Charlotte, what were you doing at 25? Trying to play volleyball and living in your dad’s basement. But me? I’m walking into WrestleMania as the WWE Women’s Champion. You say this match means nothing to you, but I can tell I’ve gotten under your skin. Sure, you’re 4-3 at WrestleMania and you might be the queen in the ring, but outside of it—you’re not the queen of anything.”
Stratton’s voice got even higher-pitched as she said that, and Charlotte tried to get the spotlight back—but it didn’t work.
Stratton kept going: “And for the next 16 days, you get to call yourself WWE’s least favorite nepo baby. Congrats.”
Charlotte tried again to take control, shouting: “Nepo Queen! Number one nepo baby!” But Stratton shut her down again, like a basketball player blocking a shot.
Then Stratton hit her with another jab:
“When I beat you at WrestleMania, Charlotte, and it’s all over, you’ll be just like you are outside the ring—alone.” Then she added, “What’s that record? 0-3. WOOO!”
This was a dig at Charlotte’s recent divorce from WWE star Andrade. Stratton left the ring after saying that, but Charlotte had one more line:
“Tiffany, is that why Kaiser is in my DMs?”
(For context: Ludwig Kaiser, another WWE wrestler, is Tiffany Stratton’s real-life boyfriend.)
There were rumors that Flair went off script earlier in the feud to make Stratton look bad during her mic segments. Maybe this was Stratton’s way of getting back at her. If that’s the case, it worked—and it definitely made the feud more exciting.
Stratton came in strong with her insults, and the crowd totally turned on Flair. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Flair have a worse night on WWE TV when it comes to her performance.
Fans had a lot to say about the segment.
One fan on X said:
“Tiff was getting roasted so badly that they didn’t even let Charlotte talk… Then Tiff brought up her divorces—that was a bit much, not gonna lie.”
Another fan said:

“I really think they don’t like each other in real life… this is turning into a real-life Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels ‘Sunny Days’ situation.”
Someone else added:
“That just brought some much-needed energy into this feud.”
And I agree.
Here are all the SmackDown results:
-
Rey Fenix beat Nathan Frazer by pinfall. Fenix will face Berto next week.
-
LA Knight defeated Tama Tonga by pinfall.
-
A tag team gauntlet will happen next week to decide who will challenge Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
-
Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) beat #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) to become the No. 1 contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles.
-
Naomi beat B-Fab by pinfall. Before and after the match, Naomi fought with Jade Cargill. Nick Aldis made their match official for WrestleMania.
-
Kevin Owens is out of WrestleMania 41 because of a neck injury. It looks real. Randy Orton hit Nick Aldis with an RKO after hearing he didn’t have an opponent—something that will likely change soon.
-
Jacob Fatu beat Braun Strowman in a Last Man Standing match. He’s now the No. 1 contender for LA Knight’s United States Championship at WrestleMania 41.
-
CM Punk told Paul Heyman the favor he needed: Punk wants Heyman in his corner for the WrestleMania 41 main event. Heyman agreed. Then Roman Reigns grabbed Heyman, and Punk hit Reigns with a GTS from behind.
This was a great episode and another strong step toward an unforgettable WrestleMania.
