The Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic is a two-door concept car that shows what the brand’s future vehicles might look like. But first, let’s talk about the grille.
The car’s grille is inspired by classic Mercedes models like the 600 Pullman, W111, and W108, while the rear design nods to the legendary 300 SL. Like the new GLC and C-Class, it has a light-up grille that can show different graphics, and the three-pointed star on the hood also lights up.
Mercedes says the glossy black paint “highlights the car’s sculpted design.” The Vision Iconic also features new solar technology applied as a “wafer-thin paste,” which could power a mid-size SUV for up to 12,000 km (7,456 miles) per year.
The car includes advanced steer-by-wire technology and level-four autonomous driving, with a computer system that mimics the human brain and is 10 times faster than current systems.
Inside, the cabin has an Art Deco style with a large four-spoke steering wheel, a wide pillar-to-pillar screen, a floating glass dashboard, blue velvet, and polished brass door handles.
Gorden Wagener, Mercedes-Benz chief design officer, said:
“Inspired by 1930s automotive design, this show car shows the essence of Mercedes-Benz. Its long hood and flowing lines give it a majestic look, and the Art Deco touches make it a true icon. The interior, with a continuous bench seat and elegant rear, recalls the legendary 300 SL. The Vision Iconic is more than a car—it’s a moving sculpture, combining traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. It’s a symbol of elegance, value, and prestige.”
“It might only be a concept car, but it gives us a glimpse of what Mercedes could offer in the future.”
