Name: Carmela Brunetti

Role: CEO & Director
Organization: ArtonWorld Magazine

Her Journey

Born in Italy in 1977, Carmela Brunetti has built a career that defies traditional boundaries between disciplines. As the CEO and Director of ArtonWorld, she leads one of the few international platforms that seamlessly integrates art, culture, art law, the art market, finance, and neuroscience, a multidisciplinary vision that reflects both intellectual depth and contemporary relevance.

With nearly two decades of experience in journalism, Carmela’s academic foundation is as strong as her creative drive. She holds two degrees from the University of Bologna: one in Art History and a Master’s in Art History and Psychology. This rare combination has shaped her distinctive perspective, one that views art not only as aesthetic expression, but as a cognitive, social, and economic force.

A defining chapter of her journey was her work as a research fellow at the LMSV Laboratory within the Department of Physics at University of Calabria, where she collaborated with Eleonora Bilotta and Pietro Pantano. Together, they developed innovative digital art volumes known as Digital Cosmati, projects that bridged science, technology, multimedia language, and contemporary art—reshaping how innovative artworks could be communicated and experienced.

Her Impact

As a curator, Carmela Brunetti has organized and contributed to numerous international exhibitions, consistently blending research, innovation, and creativity. Among her notable projects are:

  • A prestigious exhibition in Rome dedicated to Camille Ross
  • A Fluxus-focused exhibition featuring the photographic works of Antonio D’Agostino, hosted at the Fellini Museum, in collaboration with Marco Leonetti and artist Emiliano Zucchini

Through these initiatives, she has consistently demonstrated how curatorial practice can serve as a meeting point for artistic experimentation and scientific inquiry.

Building a Global Cultural Platform

Under Carmela’s leadership since 2020, the year in which I founded Artonworld magazine and which we all remember as being a difficult year because of COVID, but I didn’t give up. ArtonWorld has undergone a decisive transformation into a fully digital, interactive international magazine, officially registered at the Court of Rome, Lazio. Today, the platform collaborates with leading global voices across disciplines, including neurologists, neuroscientists, art lawyers, critics, artists, and gallery managers.

The magazine has partnered with prestigious galleries such as Marian Goodman Gallery, Lilienthal Gallery, Medina Gallery, James Cohan Gallery, and Ikonica Gallery.

A major milestone came when ArtonWorld became an official Media Partner of Art Paris, one of Europe’s most important contemporary art fairs cementing its role within the global art ecosystem.

Her Voice

“Art today cannot exist in isolation. It must speak the language of science, technology, law, and human cognition to remain meaningful in a rapidly evolving world.”

Vision & Advice

Looking ahead, Carmela Brunetti continues to expand ArtonWorld’s international network, focusing on strategic partnerships, investor engagement, and sponsorship opportunities. A central pillar of her vision is the promotion of women’s participation and leadership within the cultural and creative industries.

Her message to women in culture and media:

Embrace interdisciplinarity. The future belongs to those who are not afraid to connect knowledge, challenge traditional frameworks, and claim space with competence and confidence.
