Béatrice Delfin-Diaz is a self-made leader with an eclectic international career spanning PR/communication, consulting, change management, business development, compliance, and women’s advocacy. As CEO of Tax & Legal Academy, Compliance Director at OmniVAT Consulting, President of multiple women’s organizations, FCEM EU Commissioner, and Board Member of BECI, she has dedicated her career to creating visibility, opportunity, and empowerment for women entrepreneurs globally. Co-founding Tax & Legal Academy with her twin sister reinforces the strong family spirit at the core of her work.
Inspiration Behind a Purpose-Driven Journey
We started the interview by asking, “What inspired you to build such a multifaceted career across tax, compliance, PR/communication, and women’s leadership?”
Béatrice Delfin-Diaz replied, “My career has always been driven by curiosity, resilience, and a genuine desire to contribute meaningfully. I am a self-made woman, so nothing was handed to me every milestone required courage, adaptability, and constant learning. I’m multipotential entrepreneur and volunteer in all associations I lead. I naturally gravitated toward sectors where structure meets strategy: tax, compliance, PR, career and business development. Over the years, these fields allowed me to develop a panoramic understanding of how organizations operate and evolve.
At the same time, I have always been deeply committed to women’s rights and entrepreneurship. For nearly 10 years, I have volunteered to empower women because rights and justice must be equal for all where we see still today inequalities, and from my own experience, I know that visibility and support can change a life. This eclectic journey isn’t accidental it’s the result of embracing challenges, seizing opportunities, and staying open to new horizons. It’s also deeply personal: my family values, my education, I have been raised by my mother who always kept saying “if you want something, go for it !” Fifteen years ago, my sister invited me for founding Tax & Legal Academy alongside my twin sister Katia and elder sister Marie, a family business that keep me grounded and motivated.”
A Trusted Hub for High-Level Tax
The Worlds Times: Tax & Legal Academy has become a reference point for specialized training. What makes it unique in today’s professional landscape?
Béatrice Delfin-Diaz replied, “Tax & Legal Academy is built on expertise, precision, and human connection. My twin sister, Katia, is a Tax Expert, and together we created an training center with a strong family spirit and a very high standard of quality. We offer specialized trainings in VAT, corporate tax, indirect and direct taxation, succession law, accountancy, customs and excises, international trade, logistics, and the last years, we added soft skills training as IA, HR, … What sets us apart is our hands-on, real-life approach. Professionals don’t just attend a seminar they gain actionable knowledge directly linked to their daily challenges. Our trainers are field experts, lawyers, and our programs are constantly updated to reflect regulatory changes in Belgium and Europe.
We also prioritize accessibility: whether it’s inter-company or intra-company seminars, we tailor programs to the needs of businesses. In short, we combine academic rigor, operational relevance, and a warm, familial spirit that people genuinely appreciate.”
Empowering Women in Business
The Worlds Times: You have held multiple leadership roles supporting women entrepreneurs. What drives your commitment to this mission?
Béatrice Delfin-Diaz replied, “My commitment is personal and deeply rooted. As a woman who had to build her career step by step, I know how essential it is to have support, encouragement, and visibility. Many women have the talent and ambition but lack access to networks, funding, or representation. When I became involved with organizations such as FCE-VVB Belgium, FCEM, Ecofin Women Club, and CFFB, ENW as volunteer, I realized how powerful collective action can be.
Our motto at FCEM says everything: “Alone, we are invisible. Together, we are invincible.”
This philosophy guides everything I do. Whether advocating for women’s rights at European and international levels, building partnerships, or mentoring entrepreneurs, my aim is to open doors that were once closed. Empowering women is not just about equality it’s about economic progress, social justice, and inspiring future generations.”
Building Strong EU Alliances
The Worlds Times: As FCEM EU Commissioner, how do you strengthen relationships with European institutions and promote women in business across the continent?
Béatrice Delfin-Diaz replied, “My mission as FCEM EU Commissioner is to create visibility for women entrepreneurs at the heart of European decision-making. I spend much of my time fostering relationships with EU external bodies in Brussels, engaging in dialogue on policies that affect access to finance, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, labor rights, and cross-border collaboration. I also work to expand the FCEM network by encouraging national associations that are not yet members to join our global movement. This is essential—our representation must reflect the diversity and potential of women across Europe.
Through strategic partnerships, participation in working groups, and visibility campaigns, I ensure that women’s voices are present when key economic and legislative decisions are made. Last year, I’ve been asked to represent Women’s of Belgian Chambers of Commerce at Eurochambers EWN where I saw opportunities to multiply impact and synergies. It’s about removing barriers, amplifying success stories, and demonstrating that women entrepreneurs are not a niche they are an engine of Europe’s growth.”
Building a Legacy Together
The Worlds Times: You co-founded Tax & Legal Academy with your twin sister. How does the family spirit influence the company’s identity?
Béatrice Delfin-Diaz replied, “The family spirit is the heart of our academy. Working with my twin sister, Katia, means trust, consistency, and a shared vision. She brings her expertise as a Tax Expert, and I bring my experience in PR/communication, compliance, business development, and management. Together, we balance each other perfectly. Our clients often tell us they feel this harmony when they work with us. The atmosphere is professional but warm we genuinely care about the success of each participant, trainer, and business partner. Decisions are made with integrity and long-term thinking, not short-term gains. This family approach gives a soul to the academy. It’s not simply a training center it’s a place where expertise, human values, and authenticity meet. People trust us because they see that we are fully committed and deeply connected to what we do. Our clients really like our openness and convivial atmosphere that we drive along with us, providing high quality training. They can directly put in practice what they learn during their stay and ask every The Worlds Times to debate during the training as we prefer the quality than the quantity, our training are access limited.”
Bridging Compliance Expertise
The Worlds Times: How do your roles as Compliance Director at OmniVAT and CEO of Tax & Legal Academy complement each other?
Béatrice Delfin-Diaz replied, “Both roles allow me to work at the intersection of regulation, strategy, and education. At OmniVAT Consulting, I serve as Compliance Director, ensuring that our clients adhere to increasingly complex VAT and tax regulations in Europe and beyond, together with Katia, my business partner alongside, she is a great coach, I owe her a lot what VAT matters. This keeps me constantly updated on legal developments and practical challenges in the field.
Tax & Legal Academy, on the other hand, allows me to gain expertise and share this expertise more broadly through training programs. What we observe in compliance becomes valuable teaching material, and what we teach keeps me sharp as a practitioner. It’s a virtuous cycle. It also strengthens credibility our clients know that our academy’s content is grounded in real cases and daily experience. This dual perspective ensures that the guidance we provide is not only theoretical but truly operational and aligned with both legal requirements and business realities.”
Leadership Forged through Diverse Roles
The Worlds Times: You describe your career as eclectic. How has this diversity shaped the leader you are today?
Béatrice Delfin-Diaz replied, “My eclectic career is a strength. Starting in PR/communication taught me how to connect, influence, and convey messages. Consulting developed my strategic thinking. Compliance brought structure and rigor. Change management taught resilience. Business development gave me a commercial mindset. And advocacy work strengthened my purpose as a leader.
By moving across different fields, I learned how systems function from multiple angles. It allows me to adapt, solve problems creatively, and stay calm in complex situations. I enjoy discovering new domains that curiosity keeps my work dynamic and my intuition sharp.
Most importantly, this diversity helps me guide others. When I mentor women entrepreneurs for instance or speak at conferences at international levels, I can relate to many realities because I’ve lived them myself. Being eclectic means being open, agile, and unafraid to grow. It’s one of the greatest gifts of my professional journey.”
A Message of Courage and Possibility
Lastly we asked, “What message would you share with young women who aspire to lead, innovate, or create their own path?”
“I would tell them: never underestimate your ability to build the life you envision. Be passionated. You don’t need to know everything from the beginning what matters is courage, discipline, and the willingness to learn. Surround yourself with people who lift you up, and don’t hesitate to seek mentors who believe in your potential. Leadership starts with clarity and self-trust. Be prepared to work hard, to face resistance, and to stand firm in your values. Your voice matters, and your perspective is needed. Also, remember that you don’t have to walk alone. Join networks, associations, and communities that support women. When we stand together, we achieve far more than we could individually. Believe in your talent, dare to take risks, and don’t be afraid of having an eclectic journey—sometimes, the most unusual paths lead to the most extraordinary destinations.” Béatrice Delfin-Diaz concluded
