Madame E. interview

Madame E, Founder of Mu’id Mecca Medical Corporation and The Faisal Foundation, stands at the forefront of medical innovation and humanitarian advocacy. Recognized as one of the Top Arab Women Leaders of 2025, she has transformed her personal journey into a global mission—bridging technology, ethics, and compassion to advance cleft-craniofacial care. With over eight years of diverse experience spanning healthcare, energy, finance, and aerospace, Madame E combines scientific ingenuity with strategic leadership. Her patented, non-invasive medical device for infants with cleft conditions and her foundation’s full-scholarship model embody her unwavering vision: to make life-changing healthcare accessible, ethical, and equitable for every child worldwide.

The Inspiration behind a Global Mission

We started the interview by asking, “Madame E., what inspired you to found The Faisal Foundation, and how does your son’s story shape its mission?”

Madame E replied, “The Faisal Foundation was born out of a deeply personal journey. My son, Faisal, was born with a cleft condition, and navigating the challenges of accessing specialized care opened my eyes to the barriers families face globally. Many children, especially in underserved regions, are left without treatment due to financial and systemic limitations. In Faisal’s honor, I committed to ensuring that no child should be denied care because of cost. The foundation provides scholarships that cover 100% of medical expenses for cleft surgeries, while also funding awareness campaigns. Our mission is rooted in compassion and equity guided by the principles of transparency and ethical stewardship. Every donation we receive is managed responsibly, adhering to Islamic charitable values, so families can trust that the support truly transforms children’s lives.”

Merging Innovation with Compassion

The Worlds Times: You’ve been recognized as an award-winning medical device inventor. Can you tell us about your groundbreaking innovation in cleft care?

Madame E replied, “Absolutely. Traditional cleft treatment methods often rely on adhesives that can cause skin irritation and discomfort for infants. To address this, I invented and patented a non-invasive headwear device designed to safely close cleft gaps and provide nasal lift before surgery. The device prioritizes infant comfort and caregiver ease-of-use, significantly reducing risks associated with conventional methods. We’ve successfully developed prototypes and even secured recognition at the TAMU Biomedical Engineering Showcase. Currently, I’m expanding the innovation pipeline by developing a post-operative device to aid healing after surgical repair. My goal is to make cleft treatment not only safer and more effective but also accessible across healthcare systems worldwide. This invention is more than a medical device it’s a step toward redefining patient-centered pediatric care.”

The Role of The Faisal Foundation

The Worlds Times: As Founder & CEO of Mu’id Mecca Medical, how are you scaling these solutions for global impact?

Madame E replied, “Mu’id Mecca Medical is built on the vision of advancing ethical and accessible cleft care solutions. We are actively forging partnerships with hospitals, advocacy groups, and insurance providers across the U.S., MENA, and South Asia. Scaling globally requires navigating complex regulatory pathways, so I oversee legal compliance with FDA standards, ISO certification, and intellectual property protection. I have personally invested over $14K alongside non-dilutive grants to bootstrap our early operations. Looking forward, we are developing licensing and distribution models to bring our devices to market sustainably. Importantly, our mission is deeply integrated with The Faisal Foundation, ensuring that innovation is always tied to social impact. For me, scaling isn’t just about markets it’s about reaching the children who need it most.”

Recognizing Arab Women Leadership

The Worlds Times: You have a diverse background spanning healthcare, energy, finance, and aerospace. How has this multidisciplinary experience shaped your leadership?

Madame E replied, “My career has never followed a single track—I see it as a tapestry woven with diverse threads. Working in healthcare innovation, energy consulting, finance, and even with NASA on risk management projects has given me a unique ability to bridge industries. For example, the financial acumen I gained studying risk management allows me to design sustainable funding models, while my legal expertise in energy and healthcare law equips me to navigate compliance and regulatory landscapes effectively. Aerospace taught me systems thinking—how small decisions can create ripple effects in high-stakes environments. This breadth allows me to lead with resilience, adaptability, and creativity, always keeping an eye on both the micro details and the larger strategic vision.”

Bridging Technology, Ethics, and Accessibility

The Worlds Times: Advocacy seems central to your work. What role does public awareness play in advancing cleft care worldwide?

Madame E replied, “Advocacy is absolutely essential because cleft conditions are often misunderstood or stigmatized. Many families, particularly in low-resource settings, aren’t aware that these conditions are treatable. Through The Faisal Foundation, we run global outreach campaigns to educate communities, dispel myths, and encourage early intervention. Awareness also drives policy change. We actively advocate for cleft-craniofacial treatments to be covered by public insurance programs such as Medicaid, CHIP, and international equivalents. By raising visibility, we ensure that cleft care is recognized not as cosmetic, but as a critical medical need. Awareness transforms lives—because when society understands, it not only funds solutions but also embraces children born with cleft conditions with dignity and compassion.”

Overcoming Challenges

The Worlds Times: You’ve been named one of the Top Arab Women Leaders of 2025. What does this recognition mean to you personally and professionally?

Madame E replied, “It is a profound honor, but more than a personal accolade, I see it as a recognition of the mission I represent. Being named among the Top Arab Women Leaders of 2025 amplifies the voices of children and families affected by cleft conditions. It’s a platform to challenge stereotypes about Arab women in leadership showing that we can innovate in medicine, lead non-profits, navigate international law, and build global companies simultaneously. Personally, it is a reminder of my responsibility to lead with humility, integrity, and vision. Professionally, it validates our work at Mu’id Mecca Medical and The Faisal Foundation, motivating us to expand our reach. Ultimately, this recognition belongs as much to the families we serve as it does to me.”

A Vision for the Future of Global Healthcare

Lastly we asked, “Looking ahead, what is your long-term vision for Mu’id Mecca Medical and The Faisal Foundation?”

My long-term vision is to eradicate financial and medical barriers to cleft care worldwide. For Mu’id Mecca Medical, that means scaling our medical devices globally, ensuring they are affordable, regulatory-approved, and accessible in hospitals across continents. For The Faisal Foundation, I envision expanding scholarship programs and building international partnerships so every child, regardless of geography, has access to surgery and post-operative care. Ultimately, the two entities will work in tandem innovation driving new solutions, and philanthropy ensuring they reach those most in need. Beyond cleft conditions, I also see potential to expand into craniofacial care at large, continuing to place ethics, compassion, and sustainability at the heart of everything we do. My dream is simple yet ambitious: a world where no child suffers because of something we have the knowledge and power to heal.” Madame E concluded
