Enzo Calamo is a globally respected legacy strategist, family office leader, and trusted advisor to ultra-high-net-worth families. A former tax and estate planning lawyer, bestselling author, and international speaker, Enzo is widely known for his Seven Generation Legacy Process and holistic approach to wealth optimization. With a global following exceeding one million, he is regarded as a modern Consigliere, guiding influential families, institutions, and leaders to preserve not only wealth, but wisdom, values, and impact across generations.
Two Family Offices, One Vision
We started the interview by asking, “What inspired you to create both Lugen Family Office and Medici Family Office, and how do their missions differ?”
Enzo Calamo replied, “The inspiration for both family offices came from decades of witnessing the profound challenges that wealthy families face, not only in accumulating wealth but in sustaining it across generations. I founded Lugen Family Office to collaborate with large institutions, governments, other large family offices, and global organizations on transformational legacy-centered projects. It focuses on multi-generational leadership, relationship strengthening, and bringing together our family office network of global experts to create sustainable legacy projects.
On the other hand, Medici Family Office was born to serve UHNW and affluent families who desire a more intimate, values-based approach to legacy and wealth management. Medici is rooted in the principles of stewardship, purpose, and generational continuity. While Lugen operates on a global collaborative scale, Medici focuses on a more bespoke and confidential personal approach that empowers families to design sustainable and impactful legacies, which honor their traditions while inspiring and empowering future generations.”
Redefining Legacy
The Worlds Times: You’re known globally as a Legacy Wealth Coach and the creator of the Seven Generation Legacy Process. What does “legacy” truly mean to you?
Enzo Calamo replied, “Legacy is not about money, it’s about finding meaning in your life and fulfilling your life purpose. Your legacy is created each day through your values, your wisdom, yor actions, and the positive impact that you are making in other people’s lives. Through the Seven Generation Legacy Process, I help families understand that their decisions today influence not just their children, but their descendants seven generations into the future. True legacy requires intention, emotional intelligence, and alignment of wealth with purpose. When families embrace legacy as a living philosophy, not a legal document, they transform from wealth owners into generational architects.”
From Legal Precision to Holistic Legacy Leadership
The Worlds Times: You previously served as a tax and estate planning lawyer for Power Financial institutions. How did that experience shape your leadership today?
Enzo Calamo replied, “Working within major financial institutions gave me insight into both the technical and human sides of wealth. I saw brilliant strategies fail because families weren’t aligned emotionally and lacked trust. That period taught me that true wealth management cannot be transactional – it must be holistic, behavioral, and legacy-focused. Those insights inspired me to build family offices that address human capital first, then financial capital. Today, my mission is grounded in empathy, education, and empowering families to become wise stewards of their wealth.”
Why Authentic Legacy
The Worlds Times: Your work has reached over a million people worldwide. What do you believe resonates most with your audience?
Enzo Calamo replied, “People resonate with authenticity and timeless principles. Wealth strategies evolve, industries shift, but the core human questions stay the same: How do I protect my family? How do I create meaning? How do I ensure my life’s work matters?
I speak not only about money, but about values, purpose, and relationships topics often overlooked in traditional wealth management. Whether through my speaking engagements, my educational articles in LinkedIn, or my newsletter “The Billionaire Report,” I aim to deliver wisdom that empowers individuals to build legacies rooted in clarity, gratitude, and contribution.”
Why Wealth Alone Doesn’t Guarantee Security
The Worlds Times: With your extensive background, what do you see as the biggest misconception UHNW families have about wealth?
Enzo Calamo replied, “The greatest misconception is believing wealth alone creates security over multiple generations. In truth, emotional resilience, strong communication, shared values, and leadership development are far more important. Many families spend significant time discussing assets but very little time preparing successors. Wealth without wisdom becomes a burden. My work is to help families shift their focus from wealth preservation to legacy creation, which includes developing the next generation to lead with purpose, responsibility, and unity.”
A Life-Defining Turning Point
The Worlds Times: How did your cancer diagnosis in 2013 influence your personal and professional journey?
Enzo Calamo replied, “Cancer was a profound turning point. It led me to relinquish all my professional designations and re-examine my life purpose since I spent several years recuperating. Instead of limiting me, it deepened my resolve to dedicate my life to legacy work. It reminded me that time is precious, relationships are sacred, and impact matters more than titles. That experience sharpened my vision for both Lugen and Medici Family Office and strengthened my commitment to helping families live fully, love openly, and design legacies that uplift future generations.”
Authoring Your Legacy with Purpose
The Worlds Times: As a bestselling author and international speaker, what core message do you hope people take away from your teachings?
Enzo Calamo replied, “My core message is simple: You are the author of your legacy. Wealth is only one chapter; your actions, values, and character write the story. Whether I’m speaking to a global institution or a family around a dining table, I remind them that legacy is built intentionally, one choice at a time. When families align their wealth with purpose and their actions with values, they unlock a level of fulfillment and generational success that money alone cannot provide.”
Redefining Family Offices as Living Legacy Ecosystems
Lastly we asked, “What is your vision for the future of family offices and legacy planning in the next decade?”
“The next decade will redefine what a family office looks like. We’re entering an era where technology, behavioral science, and legacy philosophy will merge. Family offices must evolve beyond financial administration and become centers of wisdom, leadership, and generational alignment.
My vision is for family offices to function as a legacy ecosystem where families not only manage wealth but cultivate emotional intelligence, develop future leaders, resolve conflicts, empower members to fulfill their life purpose, and strengthen both family and individual identities. Those who embrace this holistic, purpose-driven model will not only preserve wealth but they will inspire and empower their own dynasties.” Enzo Calamo concluded
