Edson Gonçalves Jr. Interview
In this in-depth conversation, Edson Gonçalves Jr., Founder of Avila Tech AI, shares how more than two decades on production floors shaped a radically practical approach to artificial intelligence. Rooted in agribusiness and industrial operations, Avila Tech AI was not born in a lab, but in the reality of daily bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and lost margins. In this interview, Edson explains how AI can move beyond dashboards to become an active operational partner, delivering measurable ROI, cultural change, and sustainable performance improvements across global production environments.
From the Production Floor to AI Vision
The Worlds Times: Edson, what motivated you to found Avila Tech AI, and how does your personal experience shape the company’s vision?
Edson Gonçalves Jr. replied, “My motivation to found Avila Tech AI came from more than twenty years of hands-on experience working directly inside agribusiness and industrial operations. I spent years applying Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, and high-efficiency methodologies on the production floor, dealing with real challenges such as bottlenecks, productivity fluctuations, and invisible losses that directly impacted profitability.
Over time, this practical work evolved into a proprietary methodology, which later became the foundation of our AI system. Unlike solutions developed purely in theoretical or laboratory settings, our AI was born from operational reality and deep domain expertise.
That background defines our vision today. We do not apply AI for technology’s sake. We apply it to drive real performance improvements: increasing productivity, reducing costs, improving quality, and delivering measurable ROI. Every solution we build must create tangible business value.”
Beyond Dashboards: AI as an Operational Partner
The Worlds Times: Avila Tech’s AI system claims to go beyond traditional analytics. What are the core differentiators of your technology?
Edson Gonçalves Jr. explained, “Traditional analytics and business intelligence tools are often retrospective. They tell you what already happened. Our AI is fundamentally different because it acts as an active operational partner.
Avila Tech’s AI continuously monitors production in real time. It learns the unique characteristics of each process, captures subtle variations across cycles, and delivers actionable recommendations directly to decision-makers on the shop floor.
In many cases, it replaces functions traditionally carried out by consultants or production engineers. The system adapts and improves as it observes more data, becoming increasingly precise over time. This combination of real-time diagnostics, continuous learning, and process-specific intelligence is what truly sets our technology apart.”
Technology with Measurable Business Impact
The Worlds Times: How does Avila Tech balance cutting-edge technology with tangible business outcomes for clients?
Edson Gonçalves Jr. responded, “Technology without business impact is just a novelty. From day one, I have been very clear about that.
At Avila Tech, success is measured by results: higher productivity, lower waste, improved quality, reduced downtime, and a clear return on investment. Our AI tools are designed to directly impact key operational KPIs, not simply generate reports or dashboards.
We focus on identifying inefficiencies that are often hidden in complex operations and converting data into actionable insights. Those insights translate into cost savings, performance gains, and operational stability. This result-driven mindset is deeply embedded in both our development philosophy and the way we work with clients.”
Overcoming Resistance in Traditional Industries
The Worlds Times: What are the biggest challenges you’ve faced implementing AI in traditional agribusiness or industrial environments, and how did you overcome them?
Edson Gonçalves Jr. shared, “One of the biggest challenges is cultural. Many agribusinesses and factories have operated successfully for decades using established processes. Naturally, there can be skepticism toward AI and digital transformation.
We overcome this by building trust through validation. We typically start with pilot projects on real production lines, where the AI demonstrates measurable improvements in a short period of time.
Equally important is education. We avoid technical jargon and instead focus on tangible outcomes that operators and managers can clearly see and understand. By working collaboratively with teams and integrating the technology into existing workflows, we create early wins. Those wins build confidence and encourage broader adoption.”
The Future of AI in Production Excellence
The Worlds Times: Looking ahead, how do you see the role of AI evolving in global agribusiness and industrial production, and what direction will Avila Tech take?
Edson Gonçalves Jr. concluded, “AI will become indispensable for production environments that demand agility, sustainability, and competitiveness. The future is not just about automation. It is about anticipation, prediction, and continuous improvement.
AI will increasingly anticipate operational issues before they happen, drive predictive performance improvements, and integrate seamlessly across the entire value chain.
At Avila Tech, we are expanding into deeper predictive modules, broader cross-industry applications, and enhanced decision-support systems. Our mission is to become a global reference in AI-driven operational excellence, not just by providing insights, but by reshaping production culture and delivering real, lasting business outcomes worldwide.”
