Let’s Start the Interview

The Worlds Times: Explain your background and your Companys in detail.

Samuele Barrili: I’ve arrived at the creation of M4W Marketing4Waste, the first marketing program for waste management companies by faith. Indeed I studied at the scientific lyceum in Italy, and at its end I decided to jump into mechanical engineering. 2 years later, after the physics, maths, and chemistry exams, I learned that it wasn’t my way. I was worried about continuing my studies, but I decided to jump into a course in Toxicological Chemistry. After 5 years, I completed my master’s degree but was unhappy with my studies. 1 month later, I decided to jump into the working world, becoming the sales responsible for a company involved in wastewater treatment… Everything was strange. Indeed I started to find some connections between my studies and my job. Long story short, I worked as sales and marketing director for several international companies involved in water treatment and hazardous waste management. During my years of experience, I took a professional degree in Marketing and Business Administration and studied with the most important direct-response marketers on the planet. I also took many other professional degrees from international universities on waste management, treatment, material recovery, and more. In 2019 I decided to launch my marketing agency, MiM Marketing Interim Managers LLC, and its program Marketing4Waste dedicated to creating business strategies for waste companies to help them sell secondary raw materials.

The Worlds Times: What are your goals?

Samuele Barrili: The goal is to support 6,000 waste management companies globally to save precious resources from the waste they collect. Consequently, we save the planet by avoiding resource consumption.

The Worlds Times: What do you feel is the biggest strength of MARKETING 4 WASTE right now?

Samuele Barrili: The biggest strength Marketing4Waste has is that we are the first marketing agency focused on the field supported by the technical expertise I’ve gained during my studies and professional knowledge.

The Worlds Times: What was the path you took to get to where you are today?

Samuele Barrili: See what I wrote as an answer to the first question.

The Worlds Times: Why did you start MARKETING 4 WASTE?

Samuele Barrili: I launched Marketing4Waste because I’ve experienced that waste companies (junk removals, waste treatment, and waste management companies) are not considered the main player in saving the planet when in fact, they are.

And it’s that at the base of my Marketing4Waste: offer the waste companies their natural role in planet-saving as no one did until today.

The Worlds Times: What have been the biggest challenges you’ve had to overcome during the journey of your leadership?

Samuele Barrili: Well, that’s a fascinating question. Consider that point: have you ever seen a waste company marketing to attract new customers, sell new services or promote the sales of secondary raw materials?
Let me answer“Yes, only a few of them.”

That’s the biggest challenge we have to face: the lack of marketing knowledge and its advantages even in that field. For that, I’ve started creating a column in some of the most prominent magazines in the field, I launched the podcast Marketing4Waste, I made a newsletter on Linkedin (Marketing4Waste), and I share every single day content to educate people about the real power of marketing for a waste management company. A power that is not only focused on self-promotion (as the most significant part of people think) but also on attracting new clients, selling services, and increasing the revenue of waste companies.

The Worlds Times: Give us one word that describes you the best.

Samuele Barrili: Resilient.
I strongly believe in what I’m doing, and I know that’s my mission to help the planet and save thousands of tons of raw materials from their destruction or landfilling.

The Worlds Times: What do you value the most about MARKETING4WASTE vision?

Samuele Barrili: I’m sure that in the next few years, due to the raw materials crisis (connected with their consumption growth), waste companies will cover a crucial role in collecting and recovering raw materials. Something that today it’s mostly undervalued will become the normality.
The Marketing4Waste vision is years ahead.

The Worlds Times: What are the strategies of MARKETING4WASTE, and how do you stand unique from your competitors?

Samuele Barrili: Our strategies start from the market analysis we do when a client approaches us. It sounds strange to talk about market analysis for waste, but the reality is that everything starts from it. And thanks to that and the knowledge of what we have to research in the market, we win the challenge with our competitors. Behind there are more than ten years of expertise and challenges won that define us as the best choice for the field.

The Worlds Times: What are the key values which helped you to overcome the challenges in your path? Tell us something about your memorable incident in your leadership?

Samuele Barrili: Talking about key values, let me give you the three most important ones for me that are at the company’s base. Respect: we respect our customers, and we drive the results for their needs respecting all aspects. Commitment: that’s the second one. Every time we sign an agreement with a customer, we commit ourselves to its company. Its results are our focus, not the rest. Resilience: we are focused on results, and we don’t give up. Marketing is a science, but we don’t have complete control of the purchasing behavior of the audiences.

Talking about a memorable incident, we managed a campaign for a new client and tested his offer for three months. We were sure the offer was not aligned with the customer audience, but he asked us to try it. He was conscious of what we were doing for him. In the end, he decided to continue with us, firing the person who created the offer and giving us complete management of his marketing, starting from the creation of the offer. Our resilience and our commitment to offering results created the right path.

The Worlds Times: How do you see the company changing in two years, and how do you see yourself creating that change?

Samuele Barrili: My vision is clear: in 2 years, we’ll be the most important marketing and growth agency in the field. Now we are seven people managing and creating strategies for waste companies, the number of customers is growing, and I’m sure that in the next two years, we’ll be able to manage three times the customers we are managing now. And if that is not sufficient, starting September 2023, we’ll open our office in Madison Avenue, New York, where there are the most impactful marketing agencies on the Planet. But not only that, but we’ll also be the first ones to create incredible infomercials for the waste market. And that’s only the beginning.

The Worlds Times: What benefits are your clients getting from MARKETING 4 WASTE in this competitive world?

Samuele Barrili: Great question. Well, the benefits are the following:

— Rapid increase of their revenues thanks to our expertise and knowledge of the global market;

— A steady flux of new customers thanks to our counterintuitive lead generation process based on the direct response marketing approach;

— A fast growth of their company (sales and customers) that increase the company’s value creating the right environment, if they want, to do a tremendous cash-out.
