A size 5.3 earthquake shook parts of Mexico on Monday evening, according to the united state Geological Survey (USGS), while a seismic alarm caused some locals in the capital to evacuate structures as a precaution.
The epicenter of the quake was near the Pacific beach resort of Puerto Escondido, in southern Oaxaca state, according to the USGS.
Quickly after the quake, Oaxaca Governor Salomon Jara created on Twitter that no problems had been spotted in the state.
In nearby Morelos, Puebla as well as Mexico City, authorities also eliminated problems.
